Letters to my Children

Hey there! Hope you’ve had a great week. It’s been busy, I’m sure. I hope your new teaching methods are going well. Parking lot contacting sounds like an adventure! I’m so glad you were able to spend a p-day with the Chinese zone. Have you been able to keep practicing your Chinese on top of everything else you are doing? How are your allergies doing? Any improvement? We’ve had another crazy-busy week. 1. The boys had their last piano lessons of the year this week and brought home federation trophies. Ty had his very last lesson! Makes me sad. 2. Tate and Jett had their last soccer games of the season. Jett has soccer tryouts today. He’s a good little goalie, but playing on the field isn’t his strength. We are not sure what to expect for him. He loves playing soccer, but he’s starting football in August, and that might suit his abilities a little better. We’ll see.  3. Ty finished up all of his schoolwork and worked off his Us and got his graduation papers! Hurray! We are all reliev...

Grind, grind, grind! Sounds like you are B-U-S-Y, and tired. Oh my word, it sounds like there are a whole lot of details and meetings and trainings and transfers, etc to keep up with. Hopefully you are able to squeeze in some time for teaching (and sleeping) too! I love that you are trying out new contacting techniques and I hope they are very successful. Being a missionary is not easy, but hopefully you savor those rewarding moments when you can really touch the lives of those who are ready to learn.  This is what we’ve been up to:  1. This week I had an appointment with Dr. Brown and got my teeth scanned for some Invisalign-type trays for my upper teeth. I’m going back on Wednesday to pick them up. I just have a few teeth that need a tweak, so hopefully I won’t have to wear them very long. Jett is going in on Wednesday for braces as well. I’m not sure he knows that. I might need to break it to him, but I know he won’t be happy about it. He seems to like having crazy teeth. N...

Hi Michael! What a great letter you sent this week.  Wow—your life is so full! So much exciting work happening. It sounds like you are enjoying your responsibilities as an AP. I hope you are having a great time with your new companion. I’m glad you were able to go to the temple with Felicia and Peggy, and also had the opportunity to give blessings to those in need.  Those are payoff moments in the mission! Your p-day with dim sum and basketball sounded like a lot of fun. I’m so glad you are having such a great experience and also blessing the lives of others. Life around here has been hectic. Please pray that I will be able to make it through the month of May without completely losing my mind! 1. Last week I got to fly out to Florida to visit with my friends Megan and Janie. Hello my dear! I hope you had a wonderful week. Sorry I didn’t get to talk to you for long last week. It sounds like every week is an adventure, and you are having a great time with your new responsibilities. It sounds kind of fun to be able to travel to different areas of the mission and spend the day with different missionaries. And it’s exciting to see some of your contacts really accept the gospel and make changes in their lives. I love that Felicia is so eager to share the Book of Mormon. I just found out one of my friends has a nephew who came home from Boston (Chinese speaking) last fall. I’ve got to ask her the name, but I’m sure you knew him.
