Tim Tam Slam and Flooding the Zone

Image
Hello my dear! I hope you had a great week! Im looking forward to talking to you and hearing all about it. We had a pretty good week—despite the circumstances! Sunday night we did the Tim Tam slam while Michael was home. We invited Matt and Nolan and Tommy to join us. Matt had been eating a Keto diet, and I think slamming a Tim Tam was a little bit much for him. But all of the other boys seemed to enjoy it! Monday was the inauguration.    It was the first inauguration in a very long time that I didn’t watch. I guess it was my way of protesting. I wore black because I feel like the country is moving into a dark period. Trump came into office with a bang. He signed like 100 executive orders, fired a bunch of people, put a spending freezeze on foreign aid and other government operations. Trump sent troops to defend border from “invading criminals.” He’s running immigration raids all over the country. Threatening to withhold aid to California after the fires. Taking away security ...

Some Days Are Just Lame - Even In Australia

Hey there! Good to talk to you tonight! I’m so glad to hear there are people progressing and getting ready for baptism! Hopefully the church gets finishes soon and you all have a convenient place to gather. I’m sorry Elder Mecham is struggling. I think you are right to do your best with your missionary work, but also be sensitive to his struggles and feelings. That’s a tough line to walk. Glad to hear you are feeling well and working hard. I can tell you are a good missionary and you are working hard. I'm so proud of you! I actually had a pretty lame week. So sorry for the lame update: Monday I went to the dermatologist. He used a tiny tool to burn some spots off my face that were bothering me. It was just cosmetic—nothing concerning. But I came out of the office looking like I had chicken pox. Red spots all over my face. So that was fun.  It’s so cold and gray and dark here and I’m now in my Hibernation Era. I do not want to the leave the house (or my bed) under any circumsta...

Back To Reality

Hello my dear! I hope you have had a wonderful week full of success! I know you are so busy with your new duties, but I miss reading your email with all of the fun details. We saw the Church News come out with names of the new mission presidents. I wonder if you know anything about the people that will be replacing your current mission presidents. I could tell they have asian names, but that’s all I could tell! I hope everything is going well for you and your companion. And I hope his Dad is getting excellent medical care. Did your companion find some good cards to add to his gaming collection? Hopefully we will get to have a good chat tonight and hear all about how your seek went. This is what we've been up to: 1. We had Monday off of school, and then Tuesday we all had to get back to reality. Honestly I think all of us were a bit relieved to get back to a sense of routine! Blake and Ethan got new class schedules for the second term. Michael’s classes began on Wednesday and I thin...

What day is it anyway?

Hi Ty! We are looking forward to talking to you tonight. I hope you had a great week.  We had a fun-filled week, and I’m completely exhausted! This is what we've been up to: On Monday we had a fun day in San Francisco. We got up early and dropped off Blake and Michael at the Johnson O’Connor testing center and then the rest of us took a boat tour over to Alcatraz to see the old prison. It was creepy and entertaining. Later we stopped for sourdough bread bowls and clam chowder before heading to the game. Dad ended up only getting two tickets to the suite, so he and Michael went and enjoyed the food and cush seats. The rest of us enjoyed the game outdoors and had a really good time. Tate and Ethan were cheering for the Lions while Blake and Jett cheered for the 49ers. We were quite the spectacle! The Lions won. We stopped for Cold Stone (and chicken in Blake’s case) on our way home and everyone ended the night happy.  Tuesday we hit the road bright and early. We made good time a...
