Kidz Rule

Hi Ty! Hope you had a great week! Will we get to talk to you? I’m looking forward to hearing if the baptism went well on Friday. Hope you are feeling better and your ears are all cleared up.

We had another fun and busy week.

1. Uncle Matt was put into the bishopric last Sunday. He will do a great job.

2. Michael has been looking for a job, and was offered one working in the library. The pay isn’t great, but it sounds like it will be flexible and I think he’s excited about it.

Michael’s apartment has an empty room in it right now. The layout is very similar to the apartments at Centennial. Michael is rooming with Tanner. And Schlenney & Caleb are together. But the other two guys have never showed up. I think Michael said they saw a past-due rent notice for one of them. And maybe the other one is deployed and they are holding open a spot in the apartment for when he returns? Who knows, but for now they have a guest room and a convenient spot to store their bikes!

Michael and his friends hiked Mount Timpanogous AND Mount Neo this weekend.  I would be absolutely dying if I attempted that! Michael said Sam’s wife is very fit and set a super fast pace heading up the trail and even he had a hard time keeping up!

Dad and I got to see Michael at the BYU game last night. We went down early for a tailgate party with law school alums, and then went to the game with Dan & Alisa. It was a fun night. BYU had a lot of really great plays and crushed Kansas State 9-38! They had fireworks and fire dancers and the band was amazing. They put on a good show for us! But it was definitely a late night coming home.

3. Blake’s game didn’t go as well. We played at Syracuse and it was a really good game. We tied and went into overtime. Then they scored a touchdown and the extra point. And then we scored a touchdown and went for a 2-point  conversion, but didn’t make it. Ah! Disappointing end.

4. Ethan is going early in the morning for basketball at the junior high and is getting ready for tryouts next week. He’s also playing for Hard Knox and going to open gym at Farmington High. I’m really hoping this is a good basketball year for him!

5. I got to teach Jett’s class about budgeting this week, and also got to play Memory with the kids during Explorer games. I’m spending a lot of time at Endeavour this year.

6. I also got to help with Jett’s team dinner on Friday night. We served rolls with shredded BBQ chicken and Jett bet his buddies that he could eat the whole sandwich in one bite. When I saw him stuffing the entire thing in his mouth I got worried about him choking and started to walk over to him. Sure enough, all the bread got stuck and he couldn’t breathe. He almost un-alived himself right in front of my eyes and I wondered it I would know how to do the Heimlich properly. Luckily he was able to get it out of his mouth and start breathing again. Man, that kid will do anything for a laugh.

7. My sister Alison sent me a text yesterday. She said on Friday she had cleaners come clean the house and all of the windows. And when she woke up Saturday morning she discovered Owen had written “kidz rule” on every glass surface in the house with a window crayon. Amazing. That kid is amazingly destructive.

8. Today we enjoyed the primary program in church. Tate and Jett did great with their parts. Last program for Jett! I can’t believe he will be a deacon this next year!

9. Natalie went up to college at BYUI and started classes this week. Apparently she needs more blankets because her roommates like to keep the AC turned to 68 degrees. She’s missing her brothers because she no longer has anyone to tease.

10. Oh! How could I forget? There was another assassination attempt on President Trump’s life last Sunday. Some crazy dude hid out in the bushes on Trump’s golf course for 12 hours waiting for him. But the Secret Service spotted him before any shots were fired. We live in crazy times. I got my yard signs up for Kamala and for Brian King (for governor). Dad is *almost* as excited about them as I am.

Love you Ty!
Hope you have a great week.

Xoxo, mom

Ps. Brookie Jacks had her farewell today. She is going to Texas.

PPS. I’ll add photos to our shared album

PPPS. I backed up all the photos in your google album a few days ago. I saved them in folders on your desktop, and then added them to your apple photos.
