Last Week of School

Hello my dear! I’m sorry I’ve been so behind in writing to you. I sat down to write to you yesterday and realized I never finished this one from a month ago. So I’m sending you some old news!

We’ve been busy and have a lot to catch up on!

1. Field trip to the aquarium for Jett!

2. Jett had his last soccer game of the season and also soccer tryouts. Luckily he made Fabian’s team again!

3. Jett also had an economics fair at school. He sold Pez and “vintage” Pez dispensers. Those sold out and he made a ton of money. Unfortunately nobody bought his dance moves or alliterations, and he was disappointed with that. He’s been working hard on his dance moves and splits. And his alliterations were very creative. The kids missed out. Jett spent all of his earnings and brought home and entire backpack full of candy. We decided it probably was too much for him to eat himself, so he tried to sell it after school on the last day of school. When he had a bunch leftover he decided it would be a great idea to sell it door to door! I think he made about $15!

4. Tate had his preschool graduation program and bounce house party. He’s a little confused about why his friends get to start kindergarten and he doesn’t.

5.  5. Ty drove and hour+ away to hunt down an owl that was the last bird on his Farmington 100 list. He took Tate with him, but sadly it rained all evening and the owl did not appear. Ty was quite disappointed.

6.  Blake invited his friends over for lunch to celebrate his birthday. I made crepes, and everyone seemed happy. The next day Ty invited his friends over for crepes after they signed yearbooks. I made a million and one crepes. I also made a ton of candy leis for Ty’s friends. I’m not sure they realized they were intended to be for graduation day!

7. We celebrated Blake’s birthday as a family one day early, because his birthday was the same day as graduation, and we wanted him to have his own celebration. He mostly just asked for shoes and clothes. Unfortunately he was not able to get his license on his birthday because the driver’s Ed teachers were behind with drive times. Patience is a virtue!

8.  Ethan began working out at TOSH. They have a return-to-sport program, and Ethan is excited to start pushing himself. He’s tired of sitting around.

9. Thursday was graduation day! We all knew Ty would pull it off, but he made it stressful along the way. He managed to get all of his classes finished, work off his Us and squeeze in some work and play. We enjoyed the graduation ceremony. Ty wore some silly glasses when they called his name. We celebrated by eating dinner at Roosters. Grandma and Grandpa Rawson, Nana and Grandpa Bramhall, and Great Nana joined us. After dinner we had ice cream at Grandma’s house, and Ty had to hunt for his graduation/birthday gift. Grandpa and Grandma gave him and awesome hiking backpack, and dad and I gave him a digital piano. I’m hoping having a piano in his apartment will encourage him to keep playing. He’s gotten so good!

10. Ty went to a party at the Orchard’s house that evening and then on to the late-night graduation party at Rush. He stayed out all night and got home around 6 am, and then we were off on our road trip to Olympic National Park!

More to report on later! Love you!
