October Lovin'
Hey Michael!
I'm sorry I didn’t get this letter out sooner in the week. Life is always a bit crazy around here. It sounds like you are just busy, busy, busy with all of your different friends. I’m glad you have so many teaching opportunities. Glad to see Julia be baptized, and sorry to hear the Lui family is struggling. Hopefully they get the test results they are looking for.
I can hardly even think of anything very exciting that happened around here las week.
1. Jett has been asking to take karate for a long time. So I finally took him to a class at the rec center on Thursday. He was definitely the tallest kid, and some of the others were quite young. He was very disappointed with the class and I found out that he thought he was actually gong to be able to fight someone in karate! Haha. He’s going to have to practice awhile before that happens! The class was held over spring break, so I hope when I take him tomorrow that there will be some older kids who come.
2. Jett had his birthday on Sunday. I did not decorate his room with balloons, and he woke up very disappointed. And then we went to stake conference. Dad wanted to take a tour of the Conference Center in Salt Lake, and Jett was so put out. Definitely the worst birthday ever. Luckily he liked all of his presents, so things turned around for him later in the day!
3. We had a good time touring the conference center. It was kinda crazy to go up on the roof and look down at the temple under renovation. It was sad to see all of the beautiful grounds torn up. I look forward to seeing it all put back together.
4. Blake took the PSAT this week. He said it was “easy.” So hopefully that means he will get a good score!
5. I took all of the kids in for flu shots and covid boosters. Blake has gotten over his fear of needles, but poor Tate has not. I got my flu shot today, but have to go somewhere else for my covid booster. I would encourage you to get both. Hopefully this winter isn’t too bad. I feel like someone has been sick in our house ever since school started. It’s my turn right now. I’m on day 11 and totally ready to be done with this cough!
6. Ty damaged his phone again this week, so he is getting a new phone. I picked it up today! He is going to join Grandma’s plan, because she gets a nice discount. I spent 2 hours this morning getting an authorization code to port his phone number to the new carrier. Then I spent another 2 hours at T-moble. The phone is still not set up and I’m looking at a few more hours at the Apple store and then back to T-mobile. Sigh.
7. On Saturday I used the pressure washer to clean out the garage, and it was an absolute pleasure. (Yes, I’m reaching for interesting Information here!). It was so nice to clean the garage and already have almost everything up off the floor! I’m almost finished organizing it. It’s kinda pathetic how happy this project has made me. When it’s finished I’ll send you some pictures.
8. Dad and I went to see Top Gun at the theater and it was as good as everyone said it would be!
9. Ty has decided in all of his free time that he wants to learn to play the guitar. Electric guitar to be exact. But he borrowed an acoustic guitar from Grandpa Bramhall to start learning on.
10. Ty was very disappointed in his friends who bailed on all of the plans he was trying to make for spring break. He ended up hiking Bair Canyon by himself and then meeting Daxton, Nick, and Marcus at the top to camp for the night. Then he and Dad went mountain biking together Saturday morning. I think it was only Dad’s second time out on the bike. But this time he had gloves and padded shorts, and I think he enjoyed himself much more!
Well, that’s all I’ve got. Hopefully this week is a little more exciting than last! Have a fantastic day!
Love you,
Mom
