Cooling Down
Hello! I enjoyed talking to you on Monday! I feel bad that I forgot to send that email to you last week. Sounds like the Autumn moon Festival was a success, and you are working hard teaching people. Your contacting blitz didn’t sound very fun. But I love your attitude. Keep working hard. Never give up! Also don’t give up on others. Sometimes people won’t be able to move at the same pace you would like to see. But even small changes are important.
We had a not-too-exciting week, so this will be a quick email.
1. Soccer for Tate. Flag football and soccer for Jett. Basketball and baseball and ping pong club for Ethan. Football for Blake. Biking, birding and working for Ty. I did not manage to get out on my bike this week, but did fit in some good walks.
2. The weather has cooled down, and it’s so nice outside. We got some good rain this week, so the smoke cleared out, and it’s just lovely,
3. I’ve been slowly plugging away at my garage project, which is coming along. This week we got bikes hung, yard tools hung, the beginnings of bins labeled, and some things put away in cabinets. I repainted one of the walls, and the Thule rack is half done. I’m excited to have all of this finished so I can move on to another project.
4. I had a follow up appointment to review the MRI I had done a few weeks ago. I do have some compression in the areas of my neck and back where I have pain, but nothing too concerning right now, and the physical therapy exercises have been helping. I do have some carpal tunnel in my right hand causing my finger to tingle at night. So I’m doing some stretches, and I've ordered a brace to wear on my wrist at night. My thumb hurts right now too. I think I’m a hypochondriac.
5. Tate and I went to pick raspberries at the Mower’s house this week. He loved it!
6. My college roommates (minus Aspen) all got together at Ali’s new house on Friday night and we stayed up WAY too late enjoying each other’s company. Good friends are so important at every stage of life. Invest in people.
7. Dad had his annual Wasatch Mountain golf day yesterday. He took Ty, and invited his Dad and brothers, neighbors, coworkers. They had a great time. Dad said he looks forward to watch mountain like he looks forward to Disneyland.
8. After they golfed, Aunt Tiffany and I drove up to meet then in Midway. Dad’s old roommate Tim and his wife Stephanie came too, and all of the kids. We had a nice picnic and time to visit. We found a bunny, and Tate had a great time feeding it carrots and cucumbers. There was a cool tree to climb as well. It’s always fun to catch up with old friends.
9. Ty is playing music on the piano right now that you played, and it reminds me of you! I love listening to all of you play.
10. I used the word “sus” this week, and Ty and Blake both exploded into laughter. But it is now officially in Webster’s dictionary, so I feel fine about my word choice. Dad just used the word “mid.” We’re pretty hip.
This week was the anniversary of my friend Michelle’s dad a few years ago. She found a bookmark in his scriptures and decided to make copies for his friends and family. The bookmark listed his “principles of life management.” These were the values and character that he worked to define his life. I thought they were great and wanted to share them with you, so I’ll send a couple of pictures. Hope you have a great week!
Love you!
Mom
