Found Treasures
Hey Kiddo—
How was your week? Hope you had a fantastic week and lots of success.
What’s happening here?
1. Ok. Funny story I forgot to tell you about a few weeks ago. So I was cleaning out my car and noticed someone had stuffed garbage in the panel on the back of my driver’s seat. I just pulled a TON of wrappers and trash out of it. And then. I pulled out your graduation tassels. And a card addressed to you. And your missing watch. It was as if someone took all of the trash from your car and stuffed it into my car. Hmm. Wonder how that could have happened? Dad told me not to send you the watch because you’ll probably just lose it again. Speaking of lost items. . . my toilet bowl scrubber and base are missing. My toilet bowl scrubber. What the heck? Nobody will admit to taking it. I also found my missing earbud. Unfortunately I found it broken to pieces after being run over by the car. Lame. Blake lost his earbuds at a house where he was babysitting on Friday. His earbuds were expensive too. I’m surprised the family hasn’t been able to find and return them. They probably just fell down the couch cushions or something.
2. We had sort of a low-key week with ball games and doctor’s appointments. I started some physical therapy. Boo. I’ve got a lot of things I should be working on, but it’s hard to make the time. And so boring.
3. Blake had a pretty exciting game of basketball this week. Lots of good shots and assists. His teacher’s quorum is planning a weekend trip to someone’s cabin this weekend because Covid is over now. Blake gave a talk in sacrament meeting
4. Tate got a haircut yesterday. Poor kid. I hope he grows out of this bad hair phase. Lol. His hair is just crazy no matter what we do. It’s short now and he looks so much like Daxton.
5. Jett has been getting bloody noses a few times a week. And now Tate is starting to get them. Tate woke up this week with blood all over his bed. The basement looks like a freaking crime scene.
6. Linda asked the kids to do an art project to go along with the recital pieces they are working on, so we have been doing lots of art this week! Ty of course has procrastinated until the very last day.
7. We taught Brook how to play Quacks of Quedlinburg. We got the game for Christmas, and I’m not sure it you have played? It's such a fun game.
8. I made Valentine's cookies to take around to ministering families, and it seriously took me all day. But they tasted good!
9. Tate is at such a fun age, and loving every new celebration. He got to have a Valentine’s Day party at preschool and was so excited about it. Today he went to primary for the first time. Everything is new and exciting to him. Dad took him to his first Jazz game this week and he had an absolute blast. Tate’s has a little buddy named Gavin that he goes to preschool with (Nate’s little brother). His mom texted me this week to say that his doctor is almost positive that Gavin has a neuromuscular disease such as Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy. DMD is a really devastating disease. Kids who have it typically can no longer walk by age 12 and have a life expectancy of 26. Gavin will go in for a bunch of testing over the next couple of weeks to see I they can diagnose and treat him, but it seems like very bad news for their family.
10. Dad’s boss told him that he would like to put Dad on the management committee at the firm. I’m not sure how that will all shake out, but he seems pretty excited about it, and I think he will do a great job. (Dad says to please not mention this in an email because it is not official yet.)
It’s sort of late and I am just drawing a blank as far as a spiritual thought to share. So I’ll keep it simple this week. Love your neighbor. Don’t be racist.
Love you! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Mom
