HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hello my dear! I hope you had a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It’s hard for me to not be able to give you a big hug on your special day! You’ve been away for over a year and we miss you! I’m sorry I didn’t get to talk to you much on Tuesday night when you called. It was hard to hear with everyone over celebrating Mike’s birthday. So I’m looking forward to talking tonight and getting a good update from you.

This is what we were up to this week:

  1. Monday was Memorial Day and Dad was home from work. We did some work in the morning and then Dad took the boys golfing at Mt Ogden all day. Some rode in a cart and others walked and all came home exhausted and happy.
  2. Michael woke up and attempted the “Murph” Monday morning before golfing. He will have to tell you how many of each exercise he was able to complete. But buy the time he was done golfing that day he was toast!
  3. Tuesday night we celebrated Michael’s birthday a day early with chicken fajitas and Funfetti cake. Michael got a new climbing rope and climbing shoes and seemed very pleased! He also got some socks he can wear with his sandals and they are hilarious.
  4. Wednesday I packed up to drive young women down to our “high adventure” activity in St. George for the weekend. Marcy Judd was in my car, and she had designed an “Escape Room” challenge for the girls in each car. She made the girls put their phones in a locked box and then figure out riddles in order to get the locked box open. It was fun, but the girls didn’t a guy get their phones back until they arrived in St. George. So now the girls will never trust Marcy again!
  5. The girls did a hike with rapels the next day that I was grateful to get out of.  We had time to play games and go to the temple. And then on Saturday we hiked Kanarra falls (cool hike!) and came home. I’m exhausted!
  6. Dad went with Michael and Ethan and some friends to run the river in Riggins. Sounds like they all got dumped in the river, but at least this time they were prepared with wetsuits! Lucky them.  Dad said some of the river guides have told him that “Big Mike” is a legend among Justin’s river guides. It’s good to be remembered, yeah?
  7. Blake and his friends had quite the senior trip to remember down in St George. First they had that awful swimmer’s itch from playing in the water at Sand Hollow. And then they decided to do a 10 mile hike in 100 degree weather. But they didn’t take enough water. Everyone is fine, but Tienna ended up being airlifted out of the canyon by search and rescue. It was quite a thing. I’m still not convinced Blake has fully understood the serious nature of what could have happened. Ah. I heard something once about teenage minds being like lizard brains because they are not fully developed yet.  And so far that still feels like a good description.
  8. When I got home from St. George I went straight to the park for Jazzlynn’s graduation party. She just finished nursing school, and that is quite an accomplishment! She will either be working at the U or at Primary Children’s hospital. She also just ran a marathon!
  9. Jett and Tate got to spend the weekend with grandma and grandpa and all the cousins, which was super fun for them. Krysta even took them to Adam’s parent’s house to swim.
  10. Saturday was Lexi’s baptism, so we had to miss. But Tate and Jett at least were able to go. Rob and Leisja drove down and they all got to play with Dax and Zeke too. Fun week for all!

Love you Ty! Have a great week and we will talk soon.

Xoxo, Mom
