Father's Day
Hello my dear! I hope you have had a great week, and I hope your finger is healing well. I know I don’t handle pain well, but I remember my finder hurting for a long time after I dislocated it. Hopefully you are less bothered! I’m excited to hear your transfer information. I hope Elder Daines had a good trip hope and that things are going smoothly with your new companion!
This is what we’ve been up to this week:
- Ethan got to go to St. George with the Farmington basketball players for a tournament. They won their bracket! Ethan says he didn’t shoot great , but otherwise played well.
- Tate and Gavin got to go to summer camp at their music teacher’s house. They had a great time playing and doing art projects and making their favorite “trail mix.”
- Dad’s birthday was on Wednesday, but he had mutual that night. Grandma and Grandpa Rawson took us out to dinner at Orlando’s (Dad’s favorite) and we decided to celebrate and open presents on Saturday instead.
- On Thursday we spent our first summer afternoon at Cherry Hill. It was awesome as always. But even better now that Tate is a pretty good swimmer and I don’t have to chase after babies! I also got to go to book club at Kristen Monteirth’s house. Cody got home from his mission a few weeks ago!
- Jett had a baseball tournament in Farmington on Friday. It was so nice to have it close to home! He enjoys his team and it’s not super competitive, so that’s really great. They won’t their first game, but lost the next two.
- Did I tell you Jessica Scott cut Jett’s hair a week or two ago? She buzzed it, but left his Jedi braid.
- We had family pictures taken Saturday morning. We missed you! Michael is leaving for Taiwan this week, so it was the last time we could snap some pictures before he leaves and Blake leaves. It’s so sad that soon I will only have three kids at home!
- After pictures Michael and I went to the “No Kings” rally in Ogden to protest all of the terrible, horrible, authoritarian things that Trump is doing. We got there at the end so the crowd was small by the time we got there, but it still made me feel to to add my voice of dissent. Many millions of people were out in the streets all over the country protesting. And the best thing was that It was Trump’s birthday and he threw himself a little military parade and hardly anyone went. Yes, this is schadenfruede, but I hope he had a truly terrible birthday!
- Last night we celebrated Dad’s birthday. He got his wetsuit, a golf shirt, a short-sleeved Rugby shirt (I didn’t even know they made those!), and a cornhole set. We had Monte Cristo sandwiches and vanilla ice cream with Oreos and it was all delicious!
- Today is Father’s Day and also Tyson Nattress’ farewell. So we were able to enjoy a waffle breakfast at his house, and it was delicious! We are headed to Grandma’s house fort dinner. We are so lucky to have your dad. He’s such a patient example and good provider for our family. He handles so many details and still has the energy to put Tate to bed every night! How does he do it?
Love you Ty!
Xoxo, Mom
