May Mahem

Hey Ty! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! As always, I’ve been thinking of you and look forward to talking soon. We have had such a crazy busy week. We did a lot of fun things, but I’m exhausted and a little bit relieved it’s over! Here’s my travelogue:

  1. I took a sourdough bread making class at a neighbor’s house. Apparently making sourdough is complicated. I’ve been feeding my sourdough starter every day, but haven’t had a chance to make bread yet.
  2. Tate had his kindergarten program on Tuesday, and I successfully made it through without crying!
  3. Tate’s baseball team did not win very many games this season. But by some miracle they won all three tournament games! So Tate came home with a trophy and a medal and he was stoked!
  4. Jett’s baseball teams weren’t so lucky unfortunately!
  5. Ethan also had several games in his basketball tournament. I think he played pretty well. I saw two of his games. The first game he had two 3-pointers plus a few other points. The second game he had 6 3-pointers!
  6. Tuesday was Ethan’s yearbook day and he spent the day at a party with his friends.
  7. After the party we went to the driver’s license division and he passed his test on the first time! Unfortunately, we haven’t had time to go out and practice yet.
  8. Tuesday at Endeavour Elementary was field day with a Harry Potter theme. It was super fun. They had inflatables, quidditch, butterbeer, and a magician. I got to go and paint faces all day.
  9. Tuesday night we went out to the brand new Bees Stadium out at Daybreak. It was a beautiful setting with the mountains in the background. We had tickets for dinner and it was a nice night out.
  10. Wednesday bright and early we left the house for Blake’s graduation. There were some good speakers and it was fun to cheer for all the kids graduating. Congrats to Blake! Big accomplishment!
  11. After graduation we went to eat at the all you can eat Mongolian grill in Layton with both sets of grandparents. Yum!
  12. Then we went out to the Syracuse temple because I was the only one who had been able to go to the open house the week before.
  13. When we finally got home from graduation I went and collapsed in bed because I had been battling a stomach bug all morning and did not feel well.
  14. Jett got to go on a tour of Fizz with the deacons that afternoon. And then we spent the evening at baseball games.
  15. Blake went to the graduation party, but the poor kid came home around 1 am with the same stomach bug. I didn’t see him again until the following evening when he finally emerged from his room.
  16. Thursday was the last day of school for Jett and Tate. I went over at the end of the day for the final flag ceremony and poor little Tate was doing his best to hold back his tears. He was really sad that he wouldn’t be able to see his amazing teacher (Mrs Stark) every day!
  17. Tate spent the rest of the day swimming and playing video games at Gavin’s house. I swear he practically lives there!
  18. Friday night we saw the much-anticipated Mission Impossible movie on the IMAX screen. It did not disappoint!
  19. Tate couldn’t come to the movie, so he got to go hang out with cousin Braden. When I dropped him off Andrew told me about the new job offer he got at Blue Raven Solar. My understanding is that it will double his income. Pretty awesome!
  20. Saturday morning dad had little kid duty. He took Jett to baseball, Ethan to basketball, and Jett and Tate to Tate’s team party to see LILO and Stitch.
  21. I went with Blake and Michael and Nana to Provo for Great Grandpa’s birthday party at the park up Provo canyon. Janet was there and most of my aunts and uncles, some of my cousins. It was fun to see everyone, but grandpa was showing his age.
  22. We came home from Provo and quickly made a dinner of wings, watermelon, and mashed potatoes and gravy to celebrate Blake’s birthday. He got treats from his brothers, and climbing shoes/gear from me and Dad. He seemed pretty pleased! And then Ethan rushed off to his basketball game, mike went back to Provo and Blake went out with friends!
  23. Today (Blake’s actual birthday) he was ordained as an Elder! Dad gave him a very nice blessing.
  24. Blake packed up for St George. He is going to Tyson’s condo for the week with his friends. Mike drove back to Provo (again), and the rest of us had a lovely afternoon at home. Ethan won Dune. Ethan destroyed us in Summer Azul, and Jett destroyed us in Wingspan. And now it’s time for bed.
  25. Whew! What a week!
Love you Ty! Hope all is well.
