May the Fourth Be With You

Hello my dear!

How are you doing? How was your week? I’m interested to hear how you spent your time and if there have been any updates from the mission leaders about the new guidelines. You have been in my prayers! I’m also excited to hear about transfer news!

We are heading into the busiest time of the year with spring sports and birthdays. This is what we've been up to:

  1. Ethan did some kind of a social media ice bucket challenge on Sunday. Not sure why. Kids are weird.
  2. Natalie left for the MTC on Wednesday!
  3. Ethan got to go bowling at Boondocks and Jett got to go check out the new Bees stadium for field trips this week. Boondocks has been closed all summer for remodel and just reopened. Dad took Jett and Tate over to the batting cages and he said the place was spruced up. And they added a ropes course which sounds cool. They built a new Bees stadium out in Daybreak in South Jordan. Dad has tickets for us to go to a game in a couple of weeks, so it will be fun to go see the new facility.
  4. Michael started his new class in Salt Lake on Thursday—continuing the grind! He’s keeping his job in Provo and has been back and forth all week.
  5. Jett scored a goal in soccer!
  6. Jett also made a video for his application to Hope Squad. We didn’t have much time to make the video, so the application was rushed. But he wants to participate in everything! He was also invited to participate in the STEM Olympiad doing KenKen and Krypto!
  7. We found out that Blake was awarded an Utah Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship of $2000! Marcy Judd works at FHS as a scholarship counselor and she suggested he apply. If I recall correctly, they giver the scholarship to 6 male athletes in the state each year. We are excited and so proud of him!
  8. Friday was my Mom’s birthday, and uncle Ryan was in town for a work training, so we had dinner at our house to celebrate. Andrew’s family also came. I’m not sure if I told you, but Andrew started a new job a few weeks ago. He had been looking for a long time! But then on Friday night just before dinner he ended up on another work interview. Someone he had worked with previously called him to say his solar company had a position that he would be really good for. So, he may get another job offer in a few days and will have to decide if he is going to take it. I think the Solar company job would be more risky, but it also would be a huge salary increase, so I guess we will se what happens! Giannina also randomly got referred and hired to a law firm in salt lake for a job as paralegal and office manager, so she will have an exciting job change as well.
  9. Saturday was Farmington’s prom. Blake took Becca. He got a new suit and looked very good when he headed out for the night!
  10. I’ve been pestering Dad about going on a trip to Japan with my parents in the fall. But Dad is worried about taking off so much time from work and also the Japan trip is expensive. So he invited me to come with him to Taiwan in August at the end of Michael’s study abroad program. He booked my plane tickets, so now it’s official! I’m really excited about it.
Love you! Talk to you soon,

Mom
