Farewell

Hi Ty! I’m looking forward to talking to you and hearing all about your week and the people you are teaching. Hoping your week was filled with sunny skies and golden contacts! We have had a busy week. Spring always feels kind of crazy around here. This is what we’ve been doing.

  1. Tate’s teacher asked me if I could come to the zoo with the class on Tuesday, and I said, Yes of course! We were lucky to go on a day when they had sculptures out all over the zoo. I guess they light up the sculptures at night and now I kinda want to go back and see it all lit up. The kids were super fun, and the polar bear was amazing.
  2. By a complete stroke of luck, I also was scheduled to clean the Bountiful temple from 9 pm to midnight. That’s a pretty cool thing to do. I vacuumed the whole time and it was very enjoyable. What was NOT enjoyable was. . .
  3. Getting up at 6:30 am the next to take the young women to the temple for baptisms. Sheesh. Who is in charge of my calendar anyway?!
  4. Michael finished up his finals! Will he be moving home? Who knows. 🤷‍♀️
  5. Dad took the young men on an overnighter. They ate a lot of food and shot guns. Dad has shot more guns in the last year than in his entire life.
  6. Jett and Tate had a track meet on Saturday. It wasn’t their best showing. But I think they still had fun! Tate ran the 100 meter, and did the long jump and javelin. Jett ran the 400 and did shot put and javelin. It was nice and sunny, but windy—so the javelin results will be wonky.
  7. Friday night dad and I went to Trey Wood’s wedding reception on Friday night. It was in a neighborhood in Syracuse that had a man-made lake along everyone’s backyard. Pretty sweet!
  8. Then after the reception I went to a meeting at Blake’s friend Bronson’s house with a few other missionaries who are going to Cambodia and their parents. Bronson and his parents told us about Cambodia and helped me feel much more comfortable and excited about Blake going there.
  9. This week our concrete got poured! 👏👏👏 Also I repaired a crack in my pretty-new cooktop, fixed a broken stool, and fixed my washing machine touch screen. Also got my oil change and  car registration done. Was not able to fix the broken doorbell. Will keep working and report back.
  10. Today was Natalie’s farewell! She did a great job on her talk.  She leaves on Wednesday. She’s going to be a great missionary, but she’s going to be so homesick and Krysta is going to be so lonely without her!
That’s all I’ve got today!

Love you!
Mom
