Easter

Hey there—it was great to talk to you yesterday! I’m sorry I didn’t finish up my letter and get it sent off last night. There are always so many interruptions! We had a really nice Easter dinner at Grandma Rawson’s house, but we got home late and it was a long weekend! I am so glad to see you are enjoying being in Singapore and that there are so many people for you to talk to and contact. I hope things continue to go well with your new friend as he works toward his baptismal date. You have me intrigued about Mala, and I hope someday I’ll be able to try some!

This is what we’ve been up to this week:

  1. Happy Easter! We are celebrating today with an Easter lesson, Easter baskets, and an egg hunt in the backyard. I will eat my Cadbury eggs and hope you are also enjoying the same deliciousness. The boys are currently looking for their baskets and Dad is absolutely delighting in the fact that none of them will ever be found without clues.
  2. We had a busy sports week with Jett and Tate’s (freezing cold) baseball and soccer games. Ethan had a basketball tournament, but I didn’t make it to any of his games.
  3. Blake and I are trying to figure out what he is going to wear to prom in a few weeks. It’s kind of a dilemma because his old suit is way too big. But I don’t want to buy him a new suit that might not even fit when he gets home from his mission. So we went over to Grandpa Bramhall’s closet and tried on some of his sport coats that might be an option. Blake is having the same problem as you and Michael finding dress pants that fit loosely on his legs. So we will be ordering pants from Amazon and hoping for the best.
  4. I also had to try and find something to fit Blake that he could wear for senior photos. I spent hours at the mall and totally struck out. Sigh. My friend Emily did the photos on Tuesday night, and I’m excited to see how they turned out.
  5. Wednesday night we did chalk art on the walking trail for young women’s. And then sadly it rained that night!
  6. Blake got “kidnapped” on Wednesday night by Becca answering him to prom. The girls took the boys out to burgers at in n out. Blake also had a date on Thursday night mini-golfing. And then on Friday night he and his friends died their hair purple. He’s had a busy week. Saturday his (extra-large) prom group had their day date. They drove out to the salt flats and grilled burgers. Blake impressed everyone with grilled pineapple and cowboy caviar. He’s becoming quite the cook! The group came to our house after to hang out, and hopefully our neighbors don’t hate us for all the late-night noise!
  7. Michael has been working hard on his finals. He’s now finished with all of his classes except IS. He doesn’t love IS. But he was able to use AI to code a website, and it was slick! (Funny aside—the woman who is now Trump’s secretary of Education went on TV last week and multiple times she referred to AI (Artificial Intelligence) as A1 (as in the steak sauce.) Oh the idiocy.) Mike decided to go up to Idaho Saturday for Scott’s baptism. He made plans with Jack and a couple of girls to go river rafting before the baptism. But Mike didn’t tell me he was coming home Friday night to meet up with his friends for a ride Saturday morning. So I woke up at 5:50 am Saturday morning to very loud banging on my front door. I thought maybe some of Blake’s friends were pulling a prank or were there to pick him up for an early morning hike or something. But no. It was Jack coming to pick up Michael—who I didn’t even know was completely asleep in his bedroom. Sigh.
  8. Saturday Great Nana hosted her annual Easter Egg hunt. She is so amazing!
  9. Sunday Natalie was set apart as a missionary! She starts home MTC Monday morning and has her farewell on Sunday.
  10. The new Minecraft movie came out over spring break. It gets like 48% rotten tomatoes, but the fans are devoted. And for some reason crowds are going wild at a certain point in the show, and they are trashing the theaters. People are throwing popcorn and sodas, confetti, and even chickens. It’s wild.

Love you Ty!

Xoxo, Mom
