2025 Cali Part 2

Hey there! It was so good to talk to you today! I’m sorry it was a bit crazy with all of us in the car and me constantly interrupting to yell at the kids! Unfortunately there’s always a bit of chaos happening! Of course Tate and Jett were soaked and sandy by the time we left the beach!

It’s fun to hear about your new area, and I’m so glad you are enjoying your companions. It’s awesome there are so many people to talk to, and I’m glad you have some more opportunities speak in Chinese. I’m so glad to see you in good spirits and working hard. ❤️ I hope you killed in in basketball today!

This was a pretty boring week at home mostly filled with the normal amount of piano lessons, baseball games, dentist appointments and laundry.

The weather turned really warm, and we had workers at the house every day working on our yard project. I went out rake and weed and trim bushes in the sun—and it was absolutely life-giving after a long winter. My tulips are starting to come up!

I listened to two books this week while I did yard work, house work and got packed for our trip. Audiobooks are the best invention ever.

The Trump administration is doing their level best to completely dismantle the government. It’s absolutely wild. There are some seriously crazy things happening right now. I think it will take a very long time for the country to recover from the damage he his doing.

On Wednesday I drove down to Provo to listen to one of Great Grandpa’s friends speak at his retirement home. Traffic was terrible and I missed most of the meeting. But I did get to visit with great grandpa a bit. he said he had read your most recent email and he was practically bursting with pride. He adores you!

I took Ethan to the eye doctor for a regular exam on Thursday. When they put the drops in his eyes to make them dialate, Ethan promptly passed out and woke up on the floor! I’ve never seen that before! Luckily the eye tech acted quickly and helped Ethan gently to the ground. The good news is that his eyes are fine and his prescription hasn’t gotten worse.

Friday morning the guys from the shed company came out and built the whole shed in one day! It will be nice to have. And I’m super excited about not having to weed that whole side of the yard for the rest of my life.

We left town Friday evening—about two hours later than planned. Of course. Then we had to make a number of stops to secure  the top load. And then we stopped to pick up Michael. And then we stopped for ice cream. Twice. Needless to say, we got to St George very late.

Saturday we drove to California and arrived just in time to go to the Dodgers game. We got to the stadium early and everyone got free jerseys! We ate the obligatory Dodger’s dogs and ice cream out of our baseball cups. It was a really fun night.

Today we went to church and enjoyed an awesome testimony meeting. Later we went to the Getty museum, where Michael and I enjoyed the exhibits and Dad and Tate wanted to stab their eyes out. I think everyone enjoyed the amazing gardens outside.

We drove to see the LA temple and had lunch.  Then we talked to you and visited the beach. Any day on the beach is a good day! And any day I get to talk to you is an excellent day!

Chinese food for dinner and games at the hotel. Excellent day!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now.

Love you!
