Where Did the Week Go?
Hello my dear!
How’s the weather on the other side of the planet? It was so fun to talk to you on Sunday, and I can’t wait to hear more about your area and companion, etc. I’m so glad you were able to travel safely. And I’m so glad they greeted you so warmly with such a lovely meal at the president’s home. It makes a mom feel good to know someone else is taking care of their kids! I hope you have had a great week, and I look forward to talking again soon. I want to hear a good report on the status of the disease in your closet.
I’ve been trying to get an email sent to you all week! The days have somehow flown by.
So here’s a quick update on what we were up to last week.
1. Tate got to go to music camp at Miss Amy’s house again. This time Gavin came too, and they had such a good time. Tate and Gavin have been inseparable all week.
2. Jett has been playing on Kaysville’s all-star team. He’s had several good hits, and he’s a great 1st baseman. He loves to steal bases.
3. Ethan had volleyball tryouts and was invited to play on the Platinum 15U team. I think he’s excited, but it overlaps basketball season, and he really is hoping to make the basketball team. So we will see how it all shakes out. Ethan has been working hard in the court.
4. Dad has started exercising on the treadmill in the mornings. Good for him!
5. Blake passed all three of his AP exams, and had his grades adjusted to a 4.0!!! Good work Blake! Calculus BC (5), AP seminar (3), and US history (4). Oh man. He’s so smart and such a hard worker.
6. Dad and I enjoyed a night out a Market Street Grill.
7. I took Jett and Tate to the Farmington Festival Days parade. There were some great floats and lots of candy. Blake’s team got to throw out ice cream bars, but they were gone by the time he passed us.
8. It’s hotter than hades right now. Uncle Andrew said he went outside for a walk and the soles of his shoes melted off!
9. Dad and grandpa took Tate and Jett to the Bees game Saturday night, and I sat home glued to the news.
9. Saturday was a day that will go down in history. A 20-year-old kid with a gun was nearly successful at assassinating Donald Trump. Trump was speaking at a rally with thousands of people when a bullet grazed his ear and he dropped to the ground. One other man was killed, and two others wounded, in addition to the gunman who was immediately shot. It was horrible and fascinating at the same time. So interesting to watch the Secret Service response and listen to witness testimony. Trump is alive and unharmed besides the wound on his ear. But photographers got absolutely iconic photos of the event. And Trump supporters are even more convinced that Trump was chosen by God to lead. Trump claims to be a changed man. The brush with death was a Come To Jesus moment for him. But his speech at the Republican Nominating Convention was completely unhinged. So. That’s cool. Meanwhile every day more people call in Biden to step down. We are living in the upside down, and the next few months and/or years are going to be wild. Sigh.
We live in interesting times!
I love you and hope all is well. Talk to you soon.
Love, Mom
