Tate’s 6th Birthday and Summertime Fun

Image
Hey there— It was so good to talk to you again on Sunday, and I was able to read both of your last two emails. It’s been so fun to hear about your area, and the culture there, and I love all the food pictures! Half of the food doesn’t look recognizable to me. But I’m glad it tastes good, and hope you can figure out how to get enough to eat so you’re not too hungry. And man, you weren’t joking about the ants! I loved hearing about your travel experience, and I think it’s so cool that you get to have this adventure.   You sounded a bit discouraged when you called. I’m sorry you have to spend so much time doing administrative things, and that people are not very receptive. Missionary work must be so challenging. I think you are just brand new to the area, and as time goes on you will learn to not only understand the languages better, but I think you will learn to understand the people and their perspectives better. And you will also figure out how to get your work done more efficiently so

Where Did the Week Go?

Hello my dear! How’s the weather on the other side of the planet? It was so fun to talk to you on Sunday, and I can’t wait to hear more about your area and companion, etc. I’m so glad you were able to travel safely. And I’m so glad they greeted you so warmly with such a lovely meal at the president’s home. It makes a mom feel good to know someone else is taking care of their kids! I hope you have had a great week, and I look forward to talking again soon. I want to hear a good report on the status of the disease in your closet.   I’ve been trying to get an email sent to you all week! The days have somehow flown by.   So here’s a quick update on what we were up to last week.   1.  Tate got to go to music camp at Miss Amy’s house again. This time Gavin came too, and they had such a good time. Tate and Gavin have been inseparable all week.   2. Jett has been playing on Kaysville’s all-star team. He’s had several good hits, and he’s a great 1st baseman. He loves to steal bases.   3. Ethan

Last Week at the MTC!

Hey there— I’ve been thinking about you all week. I’m hoping you have enjoyed your last week in the MTC and have soaked up every last bit of edification and inspiration from your devotionals and musical numbers. What a life-changing opportunity this has been for you! Never again in your life will you have the time and ability to devote all your energies to gospel study and service. So make the most of it! I know you have. I’m so proud of you and the effort you have put in to becoming a strong missionary, and I know you will make a difference in those you teach, serve with, and in your own life. Is tomorrow the day you fly out? You must be so excited! And maybe nervous? I’m guessing you have mixed emotions about leaving the MTC, but mostly you are ready to begin the next phase of your mission. It’s going to be great, and I can't wait to hear about the new adventures coming your way!  ***If at all possible—please sent a quick message when you board your flight, and again when you lan
