Safety and Protection

Hello my dear! Everyone asks me how you are doing. They love reading your emails! I love seeing the pictures. The rain and standing water! Holy smokes. It’s crazy. Please be careful! Who knows what kids of creatures are floating under the surface?! Make sure there are no downed power lines either! Also, please stay out of the sewage.  Oh my word. Make sure when you shower to wash everything good with soap. It’s a miracle you aren’t sick around the clock. The hot pot looked amazing though! I’m sorry that the girl you were teaching will not be able to come anymore. Very disappointing. But I’m glad you’ve met some new kids to teach! And hopefully they will continue to pray and let you visit and develop a true interest in the gospel. I’m glad Xi Long it still coming and making progress. Little by little you are making a difference in the lives of the people you teach and interact with. I hope you have a nice relaxing p-day, and have a great time at zone conference! This is what we've b...

More Photos and Football

Hey there! So sorry I missed my email earlier in the week.  I had a house full of houseguests all day on Sunday and Monday and then I had a super early day at work Tuesday. I’m finally feeling a bit recovered! I always look forward to talking to you on Sundays and hearing about your week.  I love hearing the interesting things you experience in such a different part of the world—the heavy rain, exotic foods and critters.  It seems like you are finding your groove and having some teaching opportunities. I'm so glad things are going well for your friend Xi Long. Keep working hard and good things will follow.  This is what we were up to last week: 1. Tate started flag football and is loving it! He is so glad to finally be old enough to play on his own teams after watching his brothers for years. 2. Tate also started his new music class at Miss Amy’s house. Gavin is taking the class with him, and also his twin buddies Sawyer and Rider. They are going to have a great time...

Home ALONE

Dear Ty, It was great to talk to you tonight, and so fun to look through the photos you added to the shared album. Man you have to deal with some nasty creatures! And man, you get to eat some amazing looking food! The rain looks totally crazy. Holy smokes, I wouldn’t want to go out on a motor bike in that kind of rain either! You are lucky anyone comes to church when it’s raining! I'm glad you get to stay put for this transfer. It seems like you are enjoying yourself and finding your groove. I’m glad to hear you have put your friend on date, and hope that he continues to come and progress.   We had a decently busy and fun week. There’s always something going on to keep us busy: 1. Monday was my first day home alone all day with all of my kiddos at school. It was awesome. Not gonna lie. Basically I cleaned all day. But I was ALONE. 2. Wednesday was the firm party. Jett had to miss because of football practice, and he was not happy. But the rest of us had a good time. Tate got his fa...

Back To School!

Dear Ty, It was great to talk to you tonight! I really look forward to Sunday nights and seeing your face on my screen! I’m glad you had a good week, and hope this week is fun and exciting with transfers. May the odds be ever in your favor! I’m so glad you’ve got a great companion and hope you are able to stay together. It’s hard for me to imagine the challenges you face building up a small branch, but I know you will be able to make a difference in the lives of those you are serving.   We had a great week here. This is what we've been up to: 1. We spent Monday on the river with Michael and had a great time. Several people were tossed from the raft—including Tate and Jett, but we managed to get everyone off the river safe and sound.  Jett had a scary moment when he was swept under the raft and had to get out from under it. But he was brave and able to calm himself down and go back into the water later. Even I got into the water towards the end of the day. Dad had a smile plast...
